Return to School Information Request

Hello, everyone.  As we prepare to re-open school in September, I want to assure you all that we are working hard to come up with a plan that will support our student’s learning needs, health and safety, and emotional well-being.  I hope to be able to share some information on this plan soon for students and parents, as I know there is some anxiety and uncertainty about what school will look like in the fall.

I have a request for any of you considering keeping your child(ren) home this fall instead of returning to Caledonia.  If you can email us, or phone the school with some information it would be greatly appreciated. It would be helpful for us to know what Distance Learning or Home School program your child will be participating in, in the event that they return to Caledonia at some point in the future.

I hope you are all staying safe and as our plans develop, we will communicate them to all of our families on this website and through our email contacts we have for families.

Wrap up for 2019-20

As we reach the end of what has been a very unusual, but memorable school year, I would like to first say thank-you to everyone for having patience and understanding of our circumstances over the past few months.  It has been a stressful and uncertain time for many, and much uncertainty lies ahead as we begin our summer holiday with eyes to September.  We are currently planning for the resumption of school in September, looking at how we may be operating depending on where we are with respect to Covid-19.  I anticipate an announcement on what stage we will open school at some time in August.  I will make sure that information is shared as soon as it has been communicated to the school.

The Ministry of Education is asking for student feedback on their experiences with the interruption of face-to-face instruction due to Covid-19.  The survey is open for students in grades 10-12 until the end of July.  The link below is not a live hyperlink, but if you copy and paste it into a web browser, it will take you to the online survey.

Please contact Jessica.Olsen@gov.bc.ca if you have any questions or concerns.

I wish each of you an enjoyable and safe summer, and look forward to seeing our returning students in September.
